I grow up in Switzerland and had the great chance to learn other languages and to be in touch with other cultures at a very early age; also, throughout my working stage as CEO and responsible for Export in a small winery during many years, I got the opportunity to meet many people from around the world and to interact with them. My interest for languages, literature and culture has been always there.
So, I feel very lucky to have encountered Las Lila’s school when I arrived in Singapore. They prepared me in the methodology of teaching Spanish as a second language and this, together with my passion for languages and for people, has become a vocation for me. It is not only to teach a language, it is to introduce the students to our culture, our history and, of course, the secrets of our grammar.
As Rita Mae Brown wrote: “Language is the road map of a culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.”
